What a week!

Derek played the best game of his career. Defense bowed up and busted some heads. Nice win!

Now, reality sets back in as UNT travels to Athens, GA to collect their paycheck.

Georgia is going to strike quickly. The Mean Green will try to run and gobble clock. If the running game is on, UNT could keep the game low-scoring and close early. If the run game isn't working... oh boy.

UNT: 17

Bulldogs: 35

However, I do love the taste of crow when prepared by master chef McCarney.

I expect Aaron Murray to have a field day on our awful secondary. They can hit hard, but can't stop an elite passing attack. I think the game has a similar feel to the LSU game last year, but a team like Georgia plays a different brand of football. I just want to come out of this game with no injuries.

42-28. I think we'll give them a scare early and pull as close as 28-21 but Georgia will pull away because of our bad, bad, bad secondary coverage. They'll make sure that Georgia feels the pain, though.

I'm afraid our slow starts and inability to run the ball will see us fall behind quickly. Could be 24-0 before you know it.

Come on Mean Green, play loose and confident, make me pay for doubting you, and show us "Why not North Texas?!"

60-9. I just don't think we are near ready for a win at GA. I wish we were, but they are ranked 7th in the country and we are ranked 82. There is a big difference there. We just barely whipped #70, it was as exciting as a bowl game to us (me included). GA is SEC team (top conference), we are CUSA (worst conference). We are just not quite there, but headed in the right direction.

What I want:

1) no injuries

2) UNT to hold them to under 40

3) Don't let them cover the spread

4) coworkers who follow college football to tell me on Monday: "you guys didn't do so bad against them...ya'll are gonnna win some games this year..."

Visit their websites and see the same thing, we see from all fans from programs like this. Subs by the second quarter, name your score, etc. As bad as NT has been I don't recall Alabama, LSU, Clemson, etc getting a great amount of sub time against the Green.

UGA 41 NT 17, if NT can start out better than they have, may be a lot closer.

I always love the "Playing in Sanford Stadium though is going to be a shock for them" like comments from larger teams as if we haven't played anywhere before. LSU last year...Bama the year before and so on.
