Ulys G. Knight ('28) was a devoted alumnus and all-around athlete, playing baseball, basketball and track. He was on UNT’s championship basketball team in the early 1920s and was named the most popular student on campus. He was later known as "Mr. North Texas" for his participation in alumni activities.
Only one I can think of, Football-wise, is Riley Dodge. But I think the circumstances for his departure were a little different... plus he finished out that season. Most seem to look back on Riley fondly even though he transferred out to McNeese.
