And I don't blame them. Good thing Fly can go out and have beers with RV after this crap. Hope the friendship means THAT much to you.

MTSU will be an attendance disaster and Rice will be an embarrassment.

But, hey, I'm sire if I got to know RV, I would understand completely, right?

You have no idea how hot it was. The turnout wasn't bad until we got smoked and everyone left after the first quarter. Furthermore, the AD did a terrible job of getting people excited, everyone is looking forward to the Rice game and homecoming. The early start killed a lot of people.

That is hilariously wrong. MTSU game, uh, South Alabama...lol. There was four full sections.

They also moved the band so the students are spread out. It's a terrible turnout but not as low as you're saying. Heat was nasty, too.

They sure did 90.

I don't want to hear any crap from any students anymore about the alumni side not caring as much. At All. Ever again.

The alumni show up and cheer when we have something to cheer for. Like tonight, when Ball State was attempting their final drive, we went berzerk to the cause of 2 false start penalties... leading to an interception to seal the deal.

Students were probably making noise too. All 25 of them.

You Alumni don't give yourself too much credit, alot of students came and sat on your side again. But yes, when it came to promotions for this game, the promotions department/AD basically hid the fact that this game was on television.

The students didn't all leave.. the students moved into the mass of empty in the alumni. They realized after last week that no one will ask if they sit in the empty seat on the alumni side instead of sitting in the sun.

I love it when it is all bitching about the students and no one complains about the droves that left the alumni side in the 1st quarter.

I moved to the alumni side. The four sections moved to the alumni side, so shut up 90.

Yep. Alumni have nothing to say on this one. If anyone was watching, the gaps and the <half full Alumni side was suddenly near capacity after half time??

Huh? Did a bunch of alumni magically spawn when they heard they were needed to support a team that was down by 11 going into the half? Nope. It was the mass exodus of students that migrated to the West-side shade and gave the alumni sections a look that rivaled the Houston opener.

How am I convinced of this? Because I was one of them.

Don't worry y'all... I found a pair of glasses fresh in their bag. The students get a pass this time!

This. I saw the students moving into the empty shaded sections on the home side of the field.

My roommate's parents has season tickets but family was in town from Minnesota so couldn't make it. We sat in their seats and it was great.

A couple quotes that I think show how the student body truly feels about the football program:

"Just to let you guys know, our football team sucks. Like, I even know some of the guys on the team, and they still suck. It's like high school football." -girl behind me in line before the Idaho game talking to her new freshman buds.

"Do people come here to get away from football?" -intentionally unnamed professor

"Pretty much."- girl sitting next to me in class back in 2011

Using the 30K+ enrollment is a sorry argument because we all know people are driving here from all over DFW. Blame the heat. Blame the Bama/A&M game. Blame RV. Blame the early start. MY theory is that students just don't care, and I doubt winning will help.

I honestly don't care if the four sections of students migrated. There's 36,000 students at this school, and at most, only 7-8% of them showed up. Complain about the heat all you want, it wasn't that bad, and we're the only school it seems to affect.

Winning does matter, going into the half down 27-9 doesnt help. They thought we were done, like most of us thought. They missed out on a great comeback.. They might not be leaving anymore if we continue to win
