#1. Texas A&M Aggies
#2 Baylor Bears
#3 TCU Horned Frogs
#4 Texas Tech Red Raiders
#5 Texas Longhorns
#6 Rice Owls
A year ago, Rice stunned Kansas in Lawrence with a game-winning last-second field goal. Things have changed so much that it would be a relative disappointment if the Owls don't best the Jayhawks in Houston this Saturday.
#7 Houston Cougars
#8 UTSA Roadrunners
When the football team catches up with its crowd support, the Roadrunners will be hard to beat.
#9 North Texas Mean Green
The good news is the team in green won on Saturday; just not the Mean Green variety. North Texas needs to win games like this to get to a bowl.
#10 SMU Mustangs
#11 Texas State Bobcats
#12 UTEP Miners
Even with a loss, this is a positive first step toward respectability for the Miners, taking New Mexico to overtime. Freshman RB (and pride of El Paso Burges) Aaron Jones looks like the real deal. If Jameill Showers can settle into his new role as starting QB, there's progress to be made this year.

Perhaps UTSA already ranked above us, shows just how well we are coached !

Whooooooosh! Beep, beep!

Yeah, I hear ya, but I chose to look at this from the positive rivalry aspect. My biggest concern with UTSA was more along the lines of us beating them by 60 points every year and the game being a low attendance game that nobody cared about. Basically I thought it would be a worthless hole in our schedule when we played them. That does not appear to be the case (right now) and I think that is a good thing. We better get our sh1t together or we may lose this game this year though. There will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth.
