Losing this game was very disappointing, but by some of the reaction on here, you'd think we lost 27-21 to Idaho instead of Ohio.

I am frustrated with some of the play calling and am tired of spotting the teams a TD to start the game, but I saw a team that was down 21-7 that was on the verge of going down 28-7 keep fighting and executing enough to get back to a tie game in the 4th qtr. Lots of mistakes too, but I still think this team is going to keep improving and will be better by the end of the year. Still don't know what to think about QB. I support DT, but see other people's point about his lack of run threat being an issue.

The simple reason as to why we lost is that we were lacking in one major area: NO FLYING WORM!!!

I thought we showed a lot of character getting back in this game. In any of the previous 8 years, we would have lost that game 42-7. To me, that is the continued progress I want to see. CUSA is up for grabs--more than any year in the SBC that I can remember, this league doesn't look to have anyone who is dominant. Marshall is probably the best team, along with ECU, but neither of those teams is dominant. That said, the lack of a running game will catch up to us as long as DT is our QB. He isn't mobile, his erratic play only makes the OC want to be more conservative in playcalling, and his play in close games has been less than stellar down the stretch. PLus, the issue we know has existed all along in the DL with a lack of depth and size will also show up as the season progresses. I still see us with 4 wins, at the top, but a Ball State win this weekend would show me that I may have been way under on that win total prediction.

I still say this, I believe we have three wins against UTSA, UTEP, and Tulane. That gets us to 4. A win over Ball State at home would make me believe that 6 wins is very possible, with games at USM, at La Tech, and home to MUTS as winnable games . You win two of those 4, you get to 6 wins. Lots of games ahead and we have no idea who will get hurt, who will step up, or who will leave, but the progress shown through the first two games at least makes us hope that a non-losing season is possible again in Denton. When your 8+ years of football, under 4 different HFCs, shows a record of 23 wins and 74 losses, ANY GLIMMER OF HOPE must be grasped with a strong hold...
