Four years ago, the Bobcats were sitting a crossroads.

Coming off a disappointing opener, Ohio traveled to Denton, Texas and managed to put its season back on track. It meant salvaging a double-overtime win in a driving rainstorm and needed a fourth-and-16 conversion and a winning two-point try but the Bobcats got the job done.

Ohio won 31-30 at North Texas, and went on to finish 2009 with nine wins, a MAC East championship and a bowl game bid.

"The fact we were able to travel with that team, play in the rain and win it in overtime I think spoke very highly of that football team," Ohio coach Frank Solich said Tuesday. "There are certain points in time in a season that are going to help you, or hurt you. Obviously that was a big help to what we were all about. We were able to continue to feed off the energy of that."

Now, in 2013, the Bobcats are again at a crossroads and again the Mean Green is standing in the way. Ohio (0-1) was humiliated in a 49-7 loss at No. 8 Louisville in its season opener, and suddenly a season full of promise is now pockmocked with questions.

The 'Cats could answer a lot of those questions by besting North Texas (1-0). The pain, even sickness, of the opener has to recede quickly.

Wow telling quote:

"Ohio lost the game, and some personnel. Four starters OLs Jon Lechner and Sam Johnson, WR Mario Dovell and OLB Keith Moore will all miss the North Texas tilt after injuries suffered at Louisville. Ohio offensive coordinator Tim Albin isn't sure the $500,000 Ohio received for the game was worth it."

That's all they received? I mean, it's still a lot of money I know, but if we payed Idaho 410,000, just seems they could have payed Ohio more. Yeah...not sure that was worth it for them. Anyway, good for us. Hopefully we can take full advantage tomorrow.
