This. The bigger the margin of defeat, the more their confidence is shaken.

Absolutely. Our's is sky high right now. We have a big chance to seize this huge opportunity.

Hard to tell how good a team is when they're playing a money game, but this Ohio team beat Penn State last year.

Ohio game is going to be just like most of our games. Ohio will stack the box on D so DT and the WRs will need to make some plays to keep the chains moving. Then our big OL starts to wear down their defense.

On D we can't give up the big plays and force turnovers.

Do that and we're in every game.

This game is getting uglier and uglier for Ohio. mid 3rd and still not on the board (0-42). This can't be good for confidence, but yes it is hard to gauge how good/bad they are exactly from the game. But still.... there is reason to be hopeful for the game.

A question that keeps popping up in my mind is, "We wouldn't lose this badly to Louisville . . . would we?"

That's kind of what I was thinking. Either way, Ohio is going to be pretty pissed off all week, so there's that. Hard to tell how good a mid-major is when they lose badly to a valid Top 10 team, but right now it's 49-7 and I would like to think we have come far enough to beat them next Saturday.

Ohio lost to a very good Louisville.

North Texas beat a very bad Idaho.

Id wager with both Ohio and North Texas having small defensive lines both teams will try to run and run some more. I give the edge at QB to Ohio.

If we can control the run game on both sides and have fewer mistakes overall we win. 35-24

Anyone making the trip to the Northern hinterland?

Yes! Looking forward to the game.

For you youngsters, we used to whip Louisville every season like a red headed step-child.

I like the Mean Green's chances to go 2-0. Road game will not be easy, but I am thinking the Mean Green win this one!

Remember, you can watch the game and enjoy Oktoberfest at the same time at the Alumni Pavilion. Game starts at 6pm...come on by the Oktoberfest and enjoy some great German fare and great beers (Armadillo Ale Works and Independent Ales will be on hand) and watch the Mean Green take on Ohio! This Saturday, Sept. 7th...Alumni Pavilion.

Yes,letsgiveacheer, I remember it well. We were not too shabby against Cincinnati either.

Sounds great, and not that I'm complaining, but when did Oktoberfest move to the first week of September?

Oktoberfest always takes place in September. Yes, we are a tad early, but scheduling was a bit of a challenge this year given the UNT home schedule in September and the other regional Oktoberfest events taking place later in the month. Believe it or not, the beer folks around these parts get really busy during September with football, Labor Day and Oktoberfest, so we scheduled it when we had the best opportunity...but still in September.

Add this to the fact that the folks who do the work to put this on have pretty packed schedules as well, and Sept. 7th became the logical date.

Just come and enjoy and pretend it is later in the month.
