Give week 1 to the 'belt.

Head to Head: CUSA was 0-2 against our former conference-mates

UAB 31

Troy 34

Southern Miss 15

TX State 22

Headline grabbing: Only Western Kentucky was able to capitalize on an oportunity to play against a Power 5 conference member

WKU 35

Kentucky 26

Week 2...can we even the score?

Head to Head:

Tulane v. South Alabama

Headline grabbing opportunities:

CUSA

UTSA v. Okla State

Middle Tenn v. North Carolina

Southern Miss v. Nebraska

Sunbelt

Malzahn Bowl (Ark State v. Auburn)

Looks like Middle is USA's only chance to grab a headline, since our victory over Ohio is a given.

It is not all dire.

This kind of had to be expected. People will find that TxState and Troy are smack in the middle of the Belt while S.Miss and UAB might have harder times than people think in conference (seems 2013 is more like 2012 than 2011 for s miss)

wKentucky is coming over. Tulane is very much to be favored vs South Alabama who just had this nice home loss to an FCS team.

Southern Miss will win 2 games max. We will curbstomp them.

Be careful what you think about Southern Miss. They completely dominated Tx State yesterday and just shot themselves in the foot with turnovers (6 of them I think). USM was clearly the better team yesterday.

USM has had probably the best recruiting in CUSA the last few years. The have a ton of talent. They simply gave up last year playing for a lame duck coach.

We will be playing USM in Hattiesburg. It will NOT be easy unless the USM team melts down under a new coach, as they did last season. I do not expect that.

^ THIS!!! ^

Our performance last night gives me some hope, but Southern Miss has a ridiculous level of talent by C-USA standards. Monken is still an unknown, but if he can coach these guys up, I wouldn't be surprised to see them compete for the C-USA West title.
