This game appears to be as close an opportunity for an opening win that NT can get. Everything should be in NT's favor, home field, experience, new coaching staff on other side not to mention probably hellish weather.

Frankly, a win doesn't mean a lot; but a loss would be catastrophic.

It is McCarney's third year and time to prove something. This is a senior club that should be ready to turn the corner. This is the first and should be the easiest step in that process.

It is definitely time for McCarney to prove that all that improvement in the program that he has been touting is real.

Of course a win means something. If a loss would be catastrophic, then a win means we didn't have a catastrophic loss at the least.

I don't care about style points. Just win. Beating Idaho big would be fun, but the "W" is what counts.

Mac has been roasted at times on this board in his first 2 years. He has now had the time to built what looks like a pretty good team with some size and depth. In the past it just took 3 or 4 injuries and we were done.

I think we end up at 8-5, but we must win this game to get there.

Obviously, you look at Kansas State for example and know that no win is a given. However, NT should beat Idaho and if they do; no one in the country is going to think it is a big accomplishment. I don't think a victory over Idaho means much, other than a change in scheduling philosophy.

I think we come out and hit Idaho in the mouth...just like any team first game of the season wants to do. Stay Healthy, Keep Penalties low, execute, and most importantly WIN.
