Calipari turns his roster over year after year and doesn't have a probl....oh wait, that would be an apples to hand grenades comparison. Carry on.

Yeah, those are NBA first round picks so it's not even worth comparing IMO. But you know that.

Our recruiting isn't exactly taking off. This time last year we already had commitments from the two juco guys (Casimiro and Norris) and Tony Nunn and Friar and Wesley pretty soon after. I don't know how many commitments we could or will get before basketball season and/or early signing period. This might be another year where Benford is scrambling trying to sign people late. Players who everyone has already passed on.

Must have been pretty serious as we have a returning player who seemed to have some , let's just say, interesting off-court issues as well.

Oh, well...there goes that...it's all Benford's fault again theory. Looks like the guy could not get his act together off the court. Too bad, but doubtful this has much effect on the team.

This kind of blanket defense of Benford is appalling to me. He is in charge of the freaking program. Everything is his fault in one way or another. It is not always direct, but he is responsible for the people he recruits in exactly the same way an average supervisor in the business world is responsible for the people they hire. That does not mean he should be fired if a kid does something stupid but it also doesn't mean that the collective actions are the program are not his responsibility. That's part of being a head coach, and a reason why it would have been fantastic to have hired someone who experienced that before.

No, Matt, what is actually appalling is the fact that you have a degree from UNT and and ended up with such poor reading comprehension skills! That is what is appalling here.

Please show me anything in my statement that is a "blanket defense of Benford". Doubt you can unless you continue to use you lack of reading comprehension skills.

In your attempt to knock me for something you "assumed" I indicated, you completely missed the point. Go back, read it again, and this time try really hard to understand what it actually says.

Here's a hint....seems I was indicating that perhaps Benford has been way too soft on a certain returning player for his "off court issues" as he is still on the team while Friar was booted. Hint...hint...hint. Get it?

SERIOUS lack of reading skills here, young man. Serious! One might just say "appalling".

Yeah, my bad...the ellipses got me...I certainly did read it wrong, but I have no idea why you would think I was "attempting to knock you".

Well, the word "apalling" in reference to my post comes to mind. But, no worries, Matt...all is good!

Friar should have never been offered. He wasn't that good. Came in and really made dumb decisions and clearly showed that he didn't care about being here and didn't care about discipline, pushing himself, or being a member of the team.

He is better off not here for both of us.... and i guarantee you, he will never wear a North Texas uniform. You may have beef with Benford on somethings.... but, this shouldn't be one of them.

But then shouldn't we have beef with Benford offering him in the first place?

It absolutely should be one of them. It appears Benford not only missed in his talent evaluation of Friar, but also in his character evaluation.

How can anyone seriously think otherwise?

How surprising...once again you jump in after it is all done, and add your useless 2cents. In case you did not notice, I did not start this...and, Matt and I took care of it in person Saturday. Like I said, all good.

No need for you to add nothing to the situation. Go find some other person to troll please.
