I agree and love what they are doing, but remember Hattiesburg is a town of 46,000 with nothing, and I mean nothing else to do but support Southern Miss and hunt possum.

All the more reason why we should be doing it around here. Nothing else to do there but root for the home team and the AD is going all out. Here are countless reasons not to come out, and we do very little.

That's what should happen . . . but there are a lot of question marks for Southern Miss with a new HC with no HC experience. This is a pretty similar situation to what TS-SM was in the first game of last season, and they were not the receivers of the butt whuppin.

I find it incredibly hard to believe that Rick is just sitting around, not doing anything and sorta 'hoping everything comes together' like alot of folks seem to think.

It's hard to market the past 8 yrs' results (even with all of the upgrades) to a city that just isn't interested in what you have to offer because they have 2 high school programs that are going to State every year.

The Hattiesburg City Council issued a proclamation Tuesday, declaring Saturday, Aug. 31, as Beat Texas State Day in the Hub City.

Would the Denton City Council even pass a proclamation declaring that it recognizes the existence of UNT?

Then it begs the question, why do they feel the need to even issue a proclamation?

I love Denton dearly, but it's not the sports fan part of my personality that loves it. It's pretty rare that I run into a Dentonite who watches any sports at all.

I hear ya. I love Denton but we really should expand our reach up to Gainesville Sanger Decatur and pepper the metro with some boards and radio ads. Lots if CUSA alum all over dfw. I did love seeing my posters prominently displayed in the square bars last night. No excuses just identify measurables reach out to community and region and fill Apogee. GMG

Here's another novel idea...how about we dig up something else that some other university is doing and somehow turn it into a bash UNT and our own athletic dept. thread. Wow...that would be novel for this board.

Comparing Hattiesburg, MS to Denton....Denton more than twice as large...going on three times as large and sitting atop a major US Metropolitan area...all four major pro teams within 30 miles of Denton...numerous other major universities within a stone's throw...Yep...apples to apples alright.

Once again, you lose the effect of a somewhat decent post by always going personal. So immature, but so typical of someone starved for attention and craving it so badly. Enjoy all the love you get from the rest of the "haters" bunch and those so starved for attention that they constantly cry out..." Look at me, look at me" on a public message board. I think the crowd at Stonewall Jackson would be really impressed with you.
