For $7M you can have a very nice stadium.

I think there's a Swedish company that sells manufactured baseball stadiums for a good price. The drawback... You have to put it together yourself. Edited by filmerj

We just destroyed a 5,000 capacity aluminum seat section across the street that was not being used for anything, and will probably destroy 5,000 more fairly soon. So we know for sure we arent looking to save money in that regard.

Hopefully all the pieces are there. It would take awhile to have replacements shipped in.

Yes, but if you move, they break down easily and reassemble.

Depends on the quality. If you get cheaper material then you'll want to set it up and leave it in one spot. If you move it around much the pieces won't fit well together, it'll get wobbly, and start to fall apart.

I have no idea but what kind of college baseball stadium can you get for that price?

$7.2 Million Minnesota Gophers http://www.gophersports.com/facilities/siebert-field.html

$9.0 Million Liberty BibleThumps http://www.liberty.edu/news/index.cfm?PID=18495&mid=80101

$5+ Million DBU http://dbupatriots.com/news/2012/5/27/Dallas_Baptist_Ballpark.aspx

That's what Super Glue is for. Although sometimes you need duct tape too.

Can we just sort of, for once, consider something good news and be happy about it? As Harry sad, folks, this is great news to see the BOR...or a member of same...acknowledging baseball and providing a bit of a timeline.

Goodness...goodness!

We probably will have first class facilities, but getting an experienced coaching staff is difficult around here.

Not for the Olympic sports. Rick has made some fantastic hires in all of those sports. Jury is out on Palileo and the new softball & swimming/diving coaches. I bet he makes a nice hire for baseball.

Who's being negative? We're all excited about the news.

Minnesota got hosed on that stadium. Nice field, but no covering for the seating!?

DBU's looks very nice and I would go after the same company. Would we move the scoreboard from Fouts?

DBU has a very good baseball program.

They had a disappointing season this year after joining the WAC. Recent years they were independent and built up huge win totals. Then they won a regional in 2011 and the right to host the super, but they were playing in a really, really crappy stadium. Now they have the facilities, but much greater challenges in their opponents. Still won a respectable 30 games.
