Last year we were down to 1 QB due to injuries and that was DT#7.

I am not going to complain about our situation this Fall at all and just maybe some of our QB's have read this board enough to want to prove some of their critics wrong.

Last Fall we could have very well won 6 ended up with 4 wins but what if DT#7 had also been injured early on last Fall, too? :(

As some of you have brought out DT#7 is in Year 5. I remember years ago TCU had a Year 5 QB whose first 4 years in Frog'ville were similar to our own QB's but in his last year he put it all together at TCU.

Mac has his reasons for starting DT. Y'all are a bunch of horse beating, broken record, limerists who can't count 5 years of eligibility.

Rick

So you can question RV but we can't question Mac?

Excuse me, I forgot to fire off the sarcasm flare.

Every time I mention another opponent who opened practices and scrimmages to their fans I'm told to hush because "It's Mac's call",.. My posts are called "beating a dead horse",...a "broken record",... "The Butt of jokes"...etc.

But crapping on Derrick Thompson with what seems like the 20th thread in a matter of three weeks? Now that's acceptable.

Actually FFR, I agree with you on this one. Criticism of the athletic department, coaches, coaching staff decisions etc. is perfectly acceptable. They are adults and they are being paid to do a job. Beating an athlete to death who is giving maximum effort to represent our university, now that is not acceptable.

There once was a kid named Mitchell

They said he had awesome potential

But he walked down the court

with a look that looked sore

and flushed first round money fo schizzle

Oh no...Mitchell reference here fly...be careful. You know it's perfectly OK on this board for folks to criticize DT, but heck...those that dared to ask the same sort of questions about Mitchell were labeled "haters" and said to be such bad people for daring to question an athlete's motivation. The hypocrisy is just dripping these days. I was not happy with those who criticized Mitchell so severly just as I am not happy with those criticizing DT so severly. But, I find it more than a little interesting that some who critized posters for jumping on Mitchell are now the very ones jumping on DT. I wonder what the difference could be?

GMG.com, where no one wins

All criticism is wrong, unless it's directed towards the right party at the appropriate time.

There is never an appropriate time

Trying to avoid getting caught up in things? Prepare to be alienated.

Think this program is heading up? Look around at the lack of Ws.

Think this program is heading down? Look at the Ws.

Being too critical? Prepare to be criticized.

Your source is wrong.

My source is wrong, but I will defend it until you stop opening my thread.

Don't like the criticism? Obviously, you don't understand how terrible this program is.

You're a hypocrite. But please buy season tickets and join the Mean Green Club so we can love you! Otherwise, get off my lawn.

(purely for fun. This board has its nice moments)

That's easy. One of the two players you're comparing just isn't that good at the sport he plays.

I once took about a year vacation away from this message board. I think some are now at the same juncture I found myself and may want to consider doing the same. The negativisms become epidemic and even personally unhealthy at times--in mind, body and spirit.

Again, there is no future in Negative Ned'ville in Mean Green Country or among the Mean Green Nation. Those who choose that route are fighting a losing battle and some of those battles (quite frankly) need to be lost; in fact, probably most of them need to be lost.

At some point, the negativisms even become counter-productive to some of the "well meaning" but still negative ol' Neds ; such posts begin to run off "would be" or potential fans and even worse...............potential recruits that read this board (and trust me...they do) who want no part of a negative fan base.

Mitchell was an NBA draft choice, so kind of a ridiculous comparison. Also the character assassination of Mitchell was unbelievable. Most of the comments on here deal with DT's ability as a player, which is fair game.

That said, it's always a good idea to be aware that we are talking about 20 year old kids here. If they aren't talented enough, that is ultimately the coaching staff's responsibility for failure to recruit talent, not the kid doing his best on fans day.
