Is this the best team UNT has ever had?
Slow down. I think I am probably one of Seth's most consistent and toughest critics but this question is being asked far too soon. I will say Chandler Morris is likely the best QB of the modern era. You could grade on a curve and say Fine had less talent around him. He definitely is more physically talented. Morris should end up with 4000 yards passing with +32 TD. And he might flirt with 70% completions for the season. Reach those numbers Morris should get drafted in the bottom 1/3 of the NFL draft. And maybe even higher if we get into the playoff and the offense makes the game interesting against a big brand school. If we end up in the conference title game or in the last game if the regular season with a greater than 30% chance of getting in the title game, I would take this team over any of Seth's teams. This team is poised to be in the conversation as best team since Dickey's best team. (Landscape is so different now you can't call Dickey's team, modern especially the offense. Just way too early to make that assessment. -

Purdue fires Graham Harrell
He might see it as a step backwards, but I would love him back here as QB coach. I hope Morris is promoted out of here or at least has an assistant poached for the big time and having replacement already on staff very familiar with Denton, UNT and the surrounding area would be priceless. -

Texas State Gets MWC Offer
"Texas State is in the Sun Belt, and the exit fee for a league change is expected to be $5 million." "The Pac-12 reportedly offered only $2.5M to help Memphis -- and other AAC schools -- pay conference exit fees." AAC exit fees based on Smu were estimated at $20M+ each. ................................................. CONFERENCE FRIENDZONE: In Portland, Bill Oram wrote the Pac-12 has been “blown to pieces” as the league’s second wave of additions has only successfully yielded Utah State. Tulane and Memphis and South Florida stayed put in the AAC along with UNLV “said no, reconsidered, then said no again.” Oram noted now, the Pac-12 is a seven-team conference “without an obvious solution” to get to the minimum eight members to be recognized by the NCAA. Oram: “One has to wonder if the first schools to take the plunge, like Boise State and San Diego State, are experiencing any buyers’ remorse” (Portland OREGONIAN, 9/26). MWC officials have contacted the MAC to let the conference know of its interests in adding the two school as “football-only members.” Texas State has also emerged as a potential target to expansion in all sports (CBSSPORTS.com, 9/26). In Fort Worth, Lawrence Dow reported Texas State and UTEP would “consider moves” from the Sun Belt and Conference USA to join the Pac-12.
