Let's not prejudge when all the facts have not yet come to light.

The prosecitor on this case didn't refuse to prosecute due to lack of evidence, and Rick Perry didn't appoint a special prosecutor who then tried to hide evidence favorable to the defense.

Kinda apples and oranges, don't you think?

Well it has nothing to do with North Texas directly, so I'm not sure why it is on the main board.

If the guy is guilty of sexually assaulting the boy, then I hope he gets sentenced to fullest extent of the law.

If not, I hope his life is not impacted too much by this accusation.

No, I don't. Innocent until proven guilty. You have very little in the way of facts at this point. Just because the process of appointing a prosecutor is different does not change the fact that, until proven otherwise and convicted by a jury of his peers, this young man is innocent. You spent a lot of time lecturing everyone about this point, and it is the same. Just because you have a different opinion of the crime doesn't change the nature of the laws in this country.

You spent a lot of time lecturing everyone about this point, and it is the same. Just because you have a different opinion of the crime doesn't change the nature of the laws in this country.

The process is not "different." It was "different" because the Florida governor made it "different."

And yes, you are innocent until proven guilty.this kid will have his day on court, but young children rarely lie about sexual abuse, and when they do, it is usually because a parent is telling them to, and the lie is VERY easy to detect.

Why? Because kids can't maintain a lie. Any parent will tell you that.

I just hope that those who read this will believe their child if she/he ever confides abuse in that parent. I also hope the patent reports the abuse and let's a professional investigation happen.

And remember, you are committing a crime if you fail to report, and most likely dooming your child to emotional problems when they reach an age where they can fully comprehend what happened to them.

      I understand this point. But I also always seem to disagree with it. At 18-25 years old I don't recall being sore, fatigued, battling my mental psyche in hopes of upcoming rest, etc. Just didn't happen and I don't think it happens for guys that are far and away more athletically gifted and in shape than I ever was. We just, lost. And there are other reasons for it. And if we don't come out and get more active on offense, knock down some early confidence building shots and get our guards going early we may lose again. Tulane is in the 2nd tier of AAC teams, the tier we are trending into. They aren't a slouch... like, uh, utsa.

      Ranting about the AD, Students, Attendance and Fan Support

      As a student during the time of the first vote, there were a couple of reasons it failed- one of which I would blame RV. When asked to explain exactly how the fee increase would be used to renovate Fouts or build a stadium, he wasn’t able to show a clear vision for it. Those who were skeptical (myself included) would have been more supportive had there been a clear plan. What wasn’t his fault was that the AD was pushing hard for it with students, which created a backlash and riled up the “no” vote. One of the tipping points, as I recall it now in my old age, was an alumni funded publicity campaign in favor of the vote. I think there were table tents or other materials pushing for a yes. I definitely recall people saying that if the alumni wanted it so badly they should pay for it. (And they were correct, but we still don’t.) The hard push on both fronts ran counter to UNT’s rebellious culture. We ended up funding the 2002 increase in the student government at a reduced rate in order to be able to acquire the property across the highway that now houses all our athletics programs. (Most student senators who voted for it got kicked out by angry students, btw) That is likely why the next vote was done as a student initiative, but I would suspect it was coordinated with RV, but I guess we would need @UNTflyer to confirm.
