Yeah...He can actually play in a game and still redshirt...my point, once the redshirt is gone, he will play in games. I doubt they burn the redshirt for him to hold a clipboard. Like your point, he can do that and still keep the redshirt.

If berglund doesnt play for UNT this season and sits out, does he keep that year of eligibilty?

If Berglund is 3rd on the depth chart, I expect he tries somewhere else. He came here to start. Maybe that is why they are looking at dajon. To be the backup if DT is the starter.

It will be clearer in few more Weeks, but whatever the case, I doubt they start this circus for nothing.

BB is not eligible for a redshirt if he doesn't play this year.

If you play one play in any game, you lose your redshirt, unless you are hurt and then you can apply for a medical redshirt.

Seems you are a bit confused about redshirt rules. Hope this helps.

Im clear about freshman redshirting. You have the exception right in your reply...didnt know what could happen if berglund quits before game 1 if he remains 3rd team. Looks like that is where he is headed.

He has already used his shirt. He is likely stuck at UNT, unless he decides to transfer to an FCS school.

If he does end up 3rd team, and with his history of movement, it would be even money on him transferring to an FCS school.

That would be real disappointing if BB gave up and left. I'm not counting him out, yet. I guess we'll see in a few weeks.

As another poster stated, his shirt is used up and his only option to play immediately would be to go the FCS route.

Only reason I brought up Berglund being the odd man out is I am taking Mac at his word about not redshirting Dajon. I am assuming that he plays this year then.

If Dajon is 3rd string, he could hold a clipboard, travel with the team, and be the emergency qb. Like billiesee58 said, he keeps his redshirt still unless he plays.

For Mac to say Dajon will not redshirt, I have to assume he is at minimum the backup with the possibility of starting at the end of the season. If he is 3rd string and burns his redshirt, that would be pointless. Once he touches that field, he better at least be the backup and getting some experience, or it is a waste. Cant see DT being 3rd string.
