UNT media day thoughts from Vito

I spent most of the day running around at UNT media day, trying to get the last bit of material we need for our football magazine, not to mention a notebook for tomorrows paper.

Most of the interesting news of the day has been hashed and rehashed, but heres a quick review:

The real news of the day was that freshman quarterback Dajon Williams is rocketing up the depth chart and is still in contention to start the season opener. More on that later.

UNTs throwback jerseys are out, again more on that later.

CB Chad Davis, LB Fred Scott, LB Calvin Minor, LB Sed Ellis and S John Schilleci are all competing for playing time heading into their freshman seasons.

Freddie Warner, who has undergone reconstructive surgery on his ACL twice, has moved from cornerback to free safety.

DE Brad Horton will have arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder and has not practiced. Horton missed all of last season after having shoulder surgery.
