I don't think so. It could get picked up late but for right now it appears like no TV for Idaho. Perhaps Mean Green Premium?

1st anyone know if the game will be televised? All I'm seeing is TBA.

2nd what do you think the score will be? I'm thinking 34 to 6 UNT.

I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but we have to score more than 34 points at home against this Idaho defense.

If we only get 34 points this game we need personnel changes to the offense or you can expect us to average somewhere around 20.9 points a game again this year. That'd make it pretty tough to get to a bowl game like we're all hoping this year.

Anyone know who will carry the Rice game on Halloween? I read in the 2013 schedule threat that it was going to be the only game on TV that night. But, according to the ESPN 2013 TV schedule, not only are there more games being televised, but we're not one of them:

Thurs., Oct. 31 South Florida at Houston 7 p.m. ESPN

Thurs., Oct. 31 Louisiana-Monroe at Troy 7:30 p.m. ESPNU

Thurs., Oct. 31 Arizona State at Washington State 10:30 p.m. ESPN

Nevermind, I just found my answer. It looks like this game will be carried by Fox Sports SW. Great, we scheduled a game on Halloween for a regional broadcast, rather than national. This is the home game I was most looking forward to attending. However, my 6 and 1 year olds trick-or-treating takes priority. I guess I should be thankful I live within the regional broadcast footprint so I can watch the second half?

I hear ya but I'm sure will come stumbling out of the gates and eventually dominate in the 3rd & 4th quarters.

Our recent history would indicate that you might be right, but we bring back several players with tons of experience on both sides of the ball. I believe the team is hungry and ready to make a statement. This should be our easiest game of the season. If we can't run it up on this Vandal team, then we probably won't run it up on anyone. I think we jump on Idaho early, step on their throats, and never let up.

I will gladly take 34 points (or even 24)...IF:

- We hold them to 10 or less

- The lack of scoring is because we are out of sync trying new things (throwing on first down, zone read plays, play action to TE's, etc)

- We rotate a lot of llayers through once we are up 17 or so. Getting experience for backup receivers, D-linemen, secondary players would be a boon for us going forward.

- There is never a feeling that the game isn't in hand. I know some may say we should be happy to get a win, but if we can't control Idaho from start to finish you can kiss bowl dreams goodbye.

Not the regional Fox Sports Southwest, but the new nationwide Fox Sports 1 which starts August 17.

Exactly. If it happens that way I'd be fine with it as well. But yes, my point was more based off of what our performance was like last year against Texas Southern and how we went about scoring our 34 points that game.

The way that game went foreshadowed how inneffective our offense would be the rest of the year. Despite our defense forcing 4 turnovers and giving us good field position we were only able to score 34 points against an FCS team. Not to mention we dominated on the ground, getting 6.2 yards/carry for a total of 352 yards.

All those factors have to result in more than 34 points.

Same with the Idaho game. We should be able to force turnovers against a freshman qb on the road, not to mention a team in it's first game with their new coach and new offense. Even if we're working out some kinks we should control this game and show it on the scoreboard.

I'd love to see this game televised just because it looks like I'm going to have to work until 8 that evening, so that would put me at Apogee by 9 PM at the earliest.

However, if it's televised I'll put it on the ol' DVR and fire that baby up when I get home!
