I'm re-watching this movie and it's so weird. Ron Howard directs, and it stars Vince Vaughn, Kevin James, Winona Ryder, Jennifer Connelly, and Queen Latifah. Overall, it's a huge letdown as you'd normally expect something like that to be pretty great.

Channing Tatum, in everything else I've seen of his, is a pretty terrible actor. From interviews and such he seems like a pretty nice guy, but for the most part I don't understand why he's such a successful "actor".

That being said, the only parts of this movie that save it from being a complete flop are the ones with Tatum. He's absolutely hilarious, funnier than any of the others and for the only time, seems to actually have some acting ability. So if you end up checking it out, it's worth making it through just for his few scenes. I haven't seen White House Down yet, but thus far this is the only movie involving this mega-star where he actually lives up to his hype.

He wasn't too bad in 21 Jump Street and Magic Mike, but I still thought he was pretty bad in The Eagle. He can do action scenes just fine, but for any dialogue in most movies he's practically monotone all the time with barely any expression to his face.
