So, fifteen out of, what, 25 spots? Curious to know if we are ahead of previous years paces with the 15 verbals we have now

We can sign 27 this year. We have about 23-24 scholarships open right now but that's without kids quitting or transferring. I could see us signing all 27. And yes. We are ahead of schedule compared to last year.

6'3" X 170 and 6'5" X 185!?!?... :o

Someone had better get themselves into the weight room ASAP. Otherwise someone is going to get snapped like a twig by some Laramie Lee-like DB when they go up high for a pass. And that (as they say) will be that for the season.

Tee Goree just turned 17. They'll grow plenty, don't worry. They're playing receiver on the outside, they don't need to be big bruisers, but they will put on some weight.

The #1 WR in the country, per Rivals, is 6'4", 175.

Very impressive looking group of WRs.

While I'm very pleased with the product on the field the past couple of seasons, I'm worried that it hasn't translated into more success on the recruiting trail.

That being said, I probably noticed the improvement earlier than many of these recruits.

With the key losses NT will face, I'm concerned about maintaining that momentum going into next season. Let's hope some of these recruits hit campus ready to roll.

Yes, that's why this spring/summer should be big for us. Then of course another good season.

Also, Avery Fortenberry should be added to the class. His grayshirt was confirmed was confirmed by Vito and he is on campus now, so he will be part of the class .

Anyone have an educated guess how many freshmen could potentially start this year?

Counting redshirt freshman, or just true freshmen? If you mean just true freshman, I would say it's quite possible that one of our new WRs starts and maybe our kicker Trevor Moore. You hate to start true freshmen on either line, but considering how uncertain our D-line situation looks (at least from the outside looking in), I wouldn't be completely shocked to see one of these new D-linemen starting, especially if we sign Xavier.

I don't know how "educated" that is, but it's a guess.

Yeah, like 93-98 said, Tee Goree and Trevor Moore are the most likely. We are pretty set at slot receiver with Carlos Harris, so I wouldn't expect Fonzale Davis or Jalen Adams to have much of a chance to start. Rutherford would be best set to redshirt but we lost both our starting outside receivers so that will depend on if we can depend on Terrell, Kidsy, and Goree to be the guys we need on the outside. Maybe even Turner Smiley after his redshirt could help redshirt Rutherford, but Smiley might play slot as well.

After that I could see Davis or Willy Ivery being one or both of our return men. Maybe Tauaalo could be a starter at nose tackle, but that's a situation we shouldn't want to happen unless Tauaalo is out of this world. I think he projects better at a 3-technique but we need size and nose and we don't have much.

Just my two cents.

BillySee58, I really do enjoy reading your most astute, well thought out (and obviously) well researched posts on our recruits.

Keep up the great work! :thumbsu:
