Here is what ESPN had to say:

Garner, a player who has lined up at multiple positions for Timberview, verbally committed to Purdue and became the Boilermakers' first commit of the 2014 recruiting class. Garner has played wide receiver and outside linebacker, but he said he was recruited to play strong safety in the Big Ten.

Plays well in space. That seems to be a trend among the linebackers Coach Mac is recruiting. See Ellis and Calvin Minor last year, as well as Jamal Marshall the year before who they quickly converted to a linebacker. You need speed on defense with all the spread offenses out there.

Maybe he could potentially be a strong safety for us, but I'm thinking linebacker.
