We were talking about this the other day and I have to know if anybody else has tried it. It's funny, because my wife was a music major and lived in Bruce but never knew anybody else who did it. Anyway, as long as the sidewalks by the Music building are still made with the little stones in cement, you should try this.

When it rains (and not just sprinkles, but a decent rain), wear some fairly worn-out shoes (basically anything with soles that don't grip very well). Go to the top of the hill on Avenue C that runs from the entrance of the Music building to Bruce Hall. Take one or two good, strong steps and then push off really hard and slide down the hill. If there's enough water from the rain, and your shoes are shoddy enough, and you push off well enough, you can "surf" like 20 or 30 feet down the hill (which I think is probably about the length of it since it's not exactly Mt. McKinley).

I know, it's not wakeboarding or skydiving or anything, but hydroplaning downhill covered in that awesome Texas rain is exhilarating. It's one of the most fun, non-dangerous things I ever did on campus, even better than sliding down the banister in the Union...though you can build up a lot of speed doing that too, if you're wearing the right pants.

This reminds me...... back when I was in school('92 - '97). When the campus was shut down due to ice and snow we would tie a ski rope to the back of my '84 Mazda 626 (chick magnet I tell you!) and knee board all around campus. It was a blast and suprisingly campus police just thought it was funny. ahhhhh good times

I was thinking to myself, "Man, that guy was in school a long time ago!" Then I remembered that I graduated college in 1994. Pass the geritol, please, and I believe it's my turn with the walker now.

Another memory popped up in discussion so...no matter how good you are at rock climbing, don't ever scale the front of Bruce Hall. It may seem impressive but really, once you get about halfway up you realize that if you fall, you won't just fall hard, you'll probably get impaled, possibly in your poop-hole, if those bushes are still there. That was my only motivation for finishing the climb into the 4th-story window. I didn't want to be remembered only as the guy who died by being impaled from butthole to throat by a large bush (though there could be some cool Dracula stories to come out of it).
