Why? Film looks just fine. He's 6'2 250 heading into his senior year. Plus he's a center, they typically don't weigh 340, just don't tell McKinney that!

Not to mention our current starting center is a freshman. This kid hopefully won't have to worry about taking over the starting center position for another 4 years.

After watching Darin's HUDL video twice now -- I will concur with Truss - he can play. This kid is not huge but plays a position where you can get away with it and he has room to grow. His snaps are outstanding, and I mean velocity and accuracy. Watch how quickly the ball gets back to the QB. He has quick feet and plays mean. He can cut block his ass off. And I mean legal cut blocks not chop blocks which are cowardly. My son plays center and I am going to make him watch this kids video.

I'm wondering if his commitment is not for track and field. He is one of the best discus throwers in the state, having finished fourth at the last Texas Relays.

Last year was his first season on the varsity in football. This kid is so far under the radar. It's hard to believe that in one varsity season that he stood out over all of the campers. Plus, if he's 6'1", 250, that's undersized for FBS football and the antithesis of Mac's first complaint regarding size.

Being 2nd team all-district, if it's true, doesn't set you apart from our current squad. We're trying to elevate the talent level. On our current squad of 103 roster players (minus kickers/punters/snappers) 86 (83.5%) were first-team all-district. Many were all-area and several were all-state. There are even a few high school all-americans and a juco all-american. This team has talent but it's not up to speed with some CUSA teams. I think getting recognized talent begats getting more (and better) recognized talent.
