One of the big benefits of UNT joining Conference USA is that the Mean Green will have a chance to play Texas rivals on a regular basis with Rice, UTEP and UTSA in the league.

UNT rarely had that opportunity as a member of the Sun Belt.

And that brings us to the fourth game in our countdown of key dates of UNTs 2013 season.

Rice at UNT, Oct. 31, Apogee Stadium.

Unfortunately for UNT, all its games against Texas opponents are stacked at the end of the season three of UNTs last four games are against the other Lone Star state teams in the conference.

While UNTs game against UTSA might be the most important game of the year, its game against Rice might be its most visible due to the fact it will be shown on national TV on Halloween.

UNT will have very little competition for the sports viewer that night and will have a Texas rival at Apogee, where the Mean Green plays well historically.

I still heart Vito. It's the offseason for him, too.

Too late. You've made the Vito list. The Greek sleeps with the fishes.
