I like the Come and Take It idea and it can be sort of a king of the hill type of situation. Whoever possesses the flag/armadillo/object keeps it as long as they keep winning. If one of the other teams knocks them off, they get the prize and keep it as long as they keep winning. Not sure why a ceremonial changing of the prize in the event that the current "king of the hill" gets knocked off is a problem. It happens with all these other rivalry games.

I also like the capture the flag approach or is it capture the flags? This one could get a little complicated. Is it only your own flag that's at risk or all the flags you currently possess?

I like the idea of of a bronze Texas Armadillo but holding a football instead of a bottle or can.

As far as the recipient of the award, I say don't limit it to CUSA teams, but open the competition to all the Texas D1 colleges. Place a minimum requirement of at least two road games and award the trophy every year to the Texas D1 team with the most victories against other Texas D1 teams.

Sure there may be years that schools tie with equal win counts, but just present a trophy to each winner.

This is about as winning of a Texas situation as you could possibly get.
