UNT is still searching for an assistant coach to replace Bart Lundy, who left to become the head coach at Queens.

We have mentioned the possibility that Tony Benford could promote Jeff Luster, his director of operations who was previously an assistant coach at TCU and Air Force. Weve also mentioned that former Texas Tech assistant coach Bubba Jennings could be a possibility.

Another name to keep in mind is former Marquette assistant Scott Monarch, who would make a lot of sense from several perspectives.

That would be awesome. Another Buzz guy. One who was so shady even THEY had to fire him.

Maybe if the D-line doesn't improve under Nelson and Mac, we could get Jerry Sandusky on a work furlough, too.

EDIT: Holy crap, the guy even looks like Buzz Williams. Ugh. MAN, I hope this turns out to be unfounded speculation.

Does ULM still have that convicted felon who forged grades? Couldn't we afford to hire him away to coach on our staff instead?

That would be a mighty hire. I don't know if coach Forrest would be up for that though?

So the aforementioned coach from marquette gets berated by a few for an NCAA violation but then everyone would be onboard for Forrest coming back. Someone who lied on his resume? So instead of wanting someone who cheated to make the team better we want someone who cheated and lied to make himself better... really hard to to some people seriously when they hold ridiculous double standards. Let's just agree to go with neither and hope we land a solid assistant coach who can recruit and keep this ball rolling.

So...anyone? Gravity is doing most of the work.

I never said anything about the dude from Marquette.

All I know is coach Forrest has incredible recruiting pull in the DFW area and is probably the major reason we had the "big 3" at UNT.

I can't see a lot of DI assistants leaving their current post for this opening.

Probably Going to have to hire someone currently out of work , AAU , JUCO or HS coach

He's probably getting paid a lot more at WKU than what we could offer

Are you sure about that? I know JJ was getting paid more than what Ray Harper makes, and Benford is at least in the same class with him.

That said, there is probably more job stability and a more pleasant coaching situation at Western Kentucky.

I saw coach Forrest both times we played ULL last season. I didn't like any of his suits.
