Right, because you don't know anything about supervision unless you are a supervisor.

LOL.

If your company doesn't hold your supervisors accountable, I'd hate to see your turnover numbers.

But, on the other hand, you don't feel that employees should shoulder any of the responsibility...or so it seems from your replies here. I guess that meshes well with your "players have no responsibility for their play and effort" while the coaching staff bears 100% of the responsibility. Would have loved to have worked under your supervisors! Gravy train deal..no responsibility and anything I screwed up would be the sole responsibility of my supervisor. Where do I sign up?

Just having some fun...this thread really has run his course...time to go on to "bigger and better".

The analogy really doesn't apply, because future NBA draft picks in college aren't like any employee in any company.

I will tell you that if a promising unit that had achieved to or above expectations was suddenly given a new boss, then performed miserably, with the only variable being that new boss, the new boss would be the 1st person held accountable.

Sure...because personal responsibility is so last year! Wonder where personal pride and responsibility comes into play in your world? I so wish I could blame someone else for all the mistakes I have made in life...what a great deal that would be. But, for me no matter how bad my boss might have been I was somehow held accountable for my personal production and attitude. Man, I was treated so unfairly. I only wish you had been my hiring guy! Ha!

I know you don't believe this " one is not responsible for their own decisions and actions" stuff, but you seem to be hanging on to it just for arguments sake. Hey, I guess it makes for good theater and keeps the posting numbers high here on GMG.com.

As long as personal, or in this case, team responsibility doesn't apply to Benford, all is OK, right?

Man you have selective reading. There is responsibility by both parties, something you can't seem to grasp. The only variable wasn't just Benford being the new coach. What about injuries to Jones, Walton, Patton, etc..?

I'm with KRAM, I would love to come work in a situation like you've described and just dog it every day and give about 70% on the days I'm expected to really perform with no worries of reprimand. Just fire the boss.

We can spend page after page arguing this point, but what it comes down to is some of us believe the blame is shared between Coach Benford and Mitchell. I don't think we've ever stated anything like in your quote above. You just like to put those words in our mouths, or in our threads.

You, on the other hand, believe all of the blame falls to Benford and the players are excused of having any responsibility in last season's outcome. Let's just leave it at that and move on.

Must be nice waking up everyday, looking in the mirror and realizing you are an expert in all fields.

Never once seen a post by you holding Benford accountable for anything. Good to finally see, no matter how half hearted.

Must be nice to throw backhanded insults out at someone when you have no idea about their previous experience.

Just because I'm not a supervisor currently doesn't mean that I never have been.

So your dismissive "you don't know anything without being a supervisor" BS really doesn't apply.

< 10 wins.

1. My comments have nothing to do with your previous experience.

2. Supervisor, again, whether you have been or haven't isn't critical.

3. Was never meant to apply.

I was using an analogy, something you missed all together.

BTW, read back through this thread and see who turned it from a congratulatory thread for T.Mitchell into another tired old diatribe about Coach Benford.
