Rumor I am hearing is that Abbe is not going to return to the team.

It was just a rumor... but, a rumor from a member of the team.

Not good.

This is the same version that Vito gave in Dave Campbell's Texas Football. I'm not sure if he determined the depth chart or if it was given to him by the football coach.

Below is the two deep from Phil Steele. He apparently uses his judgment as to who has the most talent and factoring the previous depth chart.

OFF

WR - Brady Brown (sr); Carlos Harris (so)

WR - Brelan Chancellor (sr); Derrick Teegarden (jr)

WR - Darius Terrell (jr); Darnell Smith (sr)

RB - Brandin Byrd (sr); Antoine Jimmerson (so)

QB - Brock Berglund (so); Derek Thompson (sr)

TE - Drew Miller (sr); Chris Loving (sr)

OL - Kaydon Kirby (fr); Shawn McKinney (jr)

OL - Cyril Lemon (jr); Micah Thompson (so)

OL - Mason Y'Barbo (jr); Travis Ellard (so)

OL - LaChris Anyiam (sr); Cam Feldt (jr)

OL - Antonio Johnson (jr); Ryan Rentfro (fr)

DEF

DE - Aaron Bellazin (sr); Quenton Brown (jr)

DE - Brandon McCoy (sr); Chad Polk (so)

DT - Alex Lincoln (jr); Richard Abbe (sr)

DT - Ryan Boutwell (sr); Austin Orr (so)

LB - Derrick Akunne (jr); LaJaylin Smith (so)

LB - Zachary Orr (sr); Robert Lewis (jr)

LB - Will Wright (sr); Jamal Marshall (so)

DB - Zac Whitfield (so); James Jones (jr)

DB - Freddie Warner (so); Hilbert Jackson (sr)

DB - Lairamie Lee (jr); Zed Evans (jr)

DB - Marcus Trice (sr); Andrew Tucker (fr)

I do think that Steele's selections give us a stronger team but he also presupposes fully recovered injuries which may not happen.

First time I have seen Cam Feldt's name in any 2 deep.

1. Sarge will start. Chad will get time but not as a starter.

2. NT. There will be a rotation there but not sure with who. If Abbe is on the team, he will be the starter.

3. As I mentioned in an earlier, I expect a repeat for 2011 with Ryan playing about 98% of the downs, if not all. He has been very adamant about this.

4. Aaron/ Daryl

Austin and Linc will play lots of downs too at NT and 3.

This is all from somewhat of an educated guess.

Polk will have to be a 3rd down rush specialist.

Unless he has packed on 30 lbs of muscle over the summer, no way he is big enough to be an every down DE.

Also, it's great that Syd Moore is on campus and that he MAY provide some depth, but lets all remember that he is coming from a 3A high school program and isn't a 4 or 5 star recruit, meaning that there is going to be an adjustment to the level of play.

It would be best if we could redshirt him this year, but the lack of depth may make that impossible.
