Just spoke to family in the EMS system there.

Ther was a Shootout at Oak Trail Shores and a Lt or detective was shot in the head there. The shooter then fled back towards town and Sherriff Deeds spotted him and chased him to downtown and a Shootout ensued near city hall. A Granbury Police officer was hit in the arm and care flighted somewhere. The shooter was killed and his body is apparently still laying out there in front of city hall.

The crazy thing for me is, we were going to take the mother in law to eat at Babes in Granbury this afternoon, but since Babes and city hall just about share parking lots we may divert to someplace else because downtown Granbury is a mess right now.

He was armed with an AR with a drum magazine. They showed over 46 marking cones on the news, so he probably got off a lot of rounds and got lucky for a little while, who knows?

Rick

Imagine if he'd had to change clips after 10 rounds?

Really? This is where you choose to do this?

Tough year for Granbury. Tornado, now this crazy shooting officers. Nuts.

Throw the devastating economic impact that the low lake has had on local businesses, and times have just been plain bad.

Prayers for the officers and their families.

The officer was still alive as of this morning although ch 11 was saying his condition was grave last night. Prayers for he and his family.

Update: He passed.

Rick

Very sad the officer was killed. My prayers go out to all that lost their lives or were injured in this shooting.
