Actually, they are figuring that the betting public would favor us in one game. They want the money split down the middle so they can take their betting fees and go home.

Betting lines aren't about who wins. They're about getting an equal amount of money bet on both teams so the House isn't at risk for either outcome. The handicapper may or may not think that Big SEC Team will win by 38 vs Little Sun Belt Team. The line is set high enough where there's an equal amount of money wagered on both teams. Once the line is originally set, betting action determines where it goes from there.
