Breakthrough Player:

Bryan – I have really liked what I have seen in these camps from

Lance Dunbar and potentially his role as the third back in this offense. In the open field he has been outstanding catching the ball and making people miss and that includes Sean Lee who is the best cover linebacker they have. I can see Callahan creating some packages that puts him one-on-one with defenders allowing him to use his quickness. Jason Witten and I were talking about him recently and he couldn’t say enough good things about his potential ability and I agree.

"On special teams is where Dunbar will get a chance to most likely make his biggest impact. If you ask me I think we found our kickoff return guy until further notice. In 12 attempts he averaged an impressive 21.7 yards a pop."

"I wonder if people are sleeping on Lance Dunbar a little bit. While Joseph Randle is the presumed backup to DeMarco Murray, Dunbar had a terrific offseason and has the trust of the guy who matters most in the offense. No, not Jason Garrett. Not Bill Callahan either. But Tony Romo. Dunbar can be elusive out of the backfield and give linebackers some trouble. Getting the ball to him on a screen or two a game is not out of the question. Defenses might try to take advantage of his lack of size with pass protections, but he is a willing blocker."

Dallascowboys.com scout Bryan Broaddus has talked to Cowboys players who believe Dunbar has the ability to be a nightmare for defenders. “There’s something there. I was talking to Sean Lee, I said, ‘Hey this Dunbar —’ and he goes, ‘My gosh. What a nightmare to have to cover.’ Jason Witten also thinks if Dunbar were to be the third back you could see 50-, 60-catch type of player, just for his elusiveness there.”

"4. If you want to say Dez Bryant had the most impressive offseason for the Cowboys, that would be accurate. But backup running back Lance Dunbar was impressive as well during offseason workouts. Dunbar is a speedy back who could be used in third-down situations. Dunbar needs improvement on pass blocking, size could be an issue, yet, he's someone worth watching in training camp. We're not saying he should become a starter if DeMarco Murray gets hurt again, but Dunbar should see more playing time than he did last season."

Four more days until training camp!!!!!!
