A little cornhole graphic design help?

I'm trying to get this sweet design (thanks Smitty and meangreenworld.com!) put onto a cornhole board through a custom builder, but only have a low quality (400 x 840) jpeg of it. The vendor says they'd prefer a vector file (AI, EPS, or scalable PDF) or at least a much high resolution file of the logo. For anyone with a graphic design background, I have a few questions:

  • Would Smitty have a vector file version of this (I've tried to contact him, but unsuccessful so far)? I would think so since he made several sizes of this for wallpapers. If he likely would, it would be worth it for me to be patient until I get a hold of him.
  • If Smitty would not likely have a vector file version, are there any other options (other contacts or otherwise) I might have for getting a high resolution file of at least the logo and "mean green"? One of the things I love about this design is the background, but it sounds like the vendor can pretty easily create something similar if I can at least get them the logo in high res. I've seen some awesome talent on the board (especially when it comes to uniform and helmet talk :whip: ), so if someone has a similar design in a vector or high res file, I'd welcome those too.

I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to graphic design, so any advice would be appreciated. Feel free to PM me if you wish. Thanks!

This game desperately needs a different name.

Hey, it beats "bean bag" or "bean bag toss" which is what some try to call it. The ACA (American Cornhole Association) is already established as the governing body of the sport, so I guess they're stuck with it.

With alot of practice, maybe one day I can become the Great Cornholio.

One of my high school wrestling teammates would eat a bunch of sugar packets and then run around with his shirt over his head doing his Cornholio impression...

Agree.... It seems that the only ones here that know it are "rather old"...

I don't know about that...I never heard of it until I moved to Colorado 6 years ago and the guys that got me into it were in their early 20's and from Ohio. I was in my late 20's then.

Big thanks go out to Smitty for his design. We ended up using a vector file (EPS) of the Mean Green SOW logo and Victory Tailgate added color and the background. I also couldn't resist adding the green LED's.

Big thanks go out to Smitty for his design. We ended up using a vector file (EPS) of the Mean Green SOW logo and Victory Tailgate added color and the background. I also couldn't resist adding the green LED's.

How did you do the bags? I built a nice set of boxes over a year ago but have been too lazy buy/make the bags. I want your bags.

I'm flattered to have my bags wanted.

I had Victory use the same vector file to add them to the bags. They can customize the bags with any image you give them (although I think they have prefered file types for the bag customization).

Let me know if you'd like the vector file and I can PM it to you.

Price for all this?

I'm not sure the exact price because I got it as a birthday gift, but the customized boards are $180 and come with a set of bags. The lights were $30 and I believe the customization of the bags was an extra $25. Not sure what shipping was, but the box was 65 lbs so it probably wasn't cheap.

As reference, a non customized finished set of boards and bags is $130 and non finished (ready to paint) set of boards and bags is $90.

Some might think its overpriced, but the finished product is top notch and I'm very happy with it. If I had an ounce of artistic skill, I might have gotten the non finished boards and painted/finished them myself. My neighbor built his set entirely from scratch and painted it himself (with Ohio State logo...yuck) and his came out really well, but he's in construction so he's got the skills/confidence to do so.

I've got a set of boards that my Dad and I put together last summer. We're working on a new set this summer that have the the Eagle on them.

I've posted a picture of my old boards in the photo gallery if somebody is interested in buying them. We used 2x4's and they're so sturdy, my fat ass can stand on them. We had some kid break our old set so that was important to us. And of course I'll have them out on August 31 if you'd like to try them out.

      What is this program missing?

      It’s all just really depressing. I’m hurting for the players. I want us to be relevant but it just feels like there’s something missing every year we’re somewhat decent. The year we beat Arkansas I was thinking “finally- this is it. We’re gonna break through. Everyone will start taking us seriously. Here come the big recruits.” Then back to back heartbreaking losses. Is UNT football just doomed to be the low to mid tier punching bag for schools to beat up on? This is my first post for multiple years in here and I’m just curious to know serious thoughts: What are we missing? What is preventing this program from going on a Boise State/UTSA/Cincy/UCF run? Is it just the complacency and history of losing? Or is it more tangible like facilities/money towards recruits? I’m afraid if we don’t figure it out we’re really going to get left in the dust with NIL taking off. (Sorry for the long post, just processing what has turned into a disappointing season)

      Season stats: In their 112-15, yes, that is correct, win over Loyalty Prep, Crosby had 22 points in just over 17 minutes (75% from the field/50% from three). Averaging 16.2 PPG shooting 42% from the field, 32% from three and 79% on free throws. Kilgore has another good G in Kaiden Myers out of Allen, TX.

      100% agree. His biggest mistake was the DC, obviously. He compounded the mistake by keeping him (possibly due to financial constraints). He NEEDS to get it right this time. I believe EM was a good hire.

      2025 DC Wish List

      I want them excited to be here, too. A guy with a few skins on the wall…a guy that can push back on EM’s desire to always go for it on 4th down….or to encourage to take the 3 points. I think a stronger DC immediately makes our defense and our offense better. Think we hire a firm to conduct the search?
