I would trade my GPA for those any day. GREAT job athletes.

I've been saying this ever since my Junior year, when I started learning more about our academic success model for athletes. We have a great system in place for our athletes to succeed as students, and at an even higher level than the student body overall. We are definitely doing a lot right in that area, regardless of any disputes about coaches or winning more games. I wish we could perform those kinds of miracles with the rest of the students, but alas athletes are required to attend study halls and have their progress tracked more regularly than everyone else. Having been a tutor, a supplemental instructor, a peer advisor, and a TA/RA, I have seen almost every angle of academics on the student side, and if the students who are given this opportunity for an education were nearly as focused and driven as our athletes, we would be getting more credit and attention than the decent amount we already have. You can lead a horse to water...but only half of our "horses" will drink without us trying to force them.
