I would think his height is the issue. Listed at 6'1", and we all know what that means.

Never understood why height was so important on the DL (unless being taller means you can add more weight). Booger is the gold standard for under-heighted defensive linemen.

If we're talking about a DE, then they need to be taller so they can get their arms up and block passes better. However, like others on this board, I just want the best and most motivated athlete to be out there.

I'm guessing they want JJ SWatt-type players who can knock down passes at the line, and also make it harder for QB's to see downfield.

But, give me guys with a motor like Booger any day over a project kid who is tall.

That's not the only reason they need to be tall and long. Defensive ends go against offensive tackles who are generally 6'5" (legitimately) or taller. As a defensive end, if their arms are longer than the defensive end's, then they can control you with their arms and you can't even reach their body with your hands.

Imagine you're holding some candy and a little kid wants it. You're holding them off with one arm in their chest and their arms are flailing in the air, not reaching you. They have no chance of even getting to you because you have complete control of them while they have zero. A little weird/lame analagy, but this is essentially the same concept.

And yes, I did see a height listing where Graham was 5'10" but hopefully he has grown since then and either way he can still be successful for us. Hopefully we can get some highlight tape up here soon.

What I like is that he is talking to others about coming to UNT, not just waiting for other/better offers and keeping us around just in case (like that QB who eventually ended up at UTEP did, and he isn't even on their roster anymore).

Looking forward to seeing Mr. Grahm play in a Mean Green uniform.

Let's keep that Desoto pipeline flowing,

Such a huge benefit of having early commits. Especially those whose high school team is littered with D1 athletes.

SAT test scores from December are due out today. If we are holding open the offers to Graham and Jackson from Desoto, this might be the last opportunity for them to post a qualifying score before we have to offer the scholarships to someone else (assuming we have not already).

Pulling for these two kids. Hoping the get the scores they need.

There have never been with the program. They were committed to the 2014 class but never signed and it was reported they were grayshirting. It now appears they were still working on qualifying and getting accepted to the university.

Vito reported the other day they were still committed and waiting to hear back from university on getting admitted.

Unfortunately, we are at the point we will have to move on to other recruits, if we haven't already.

I was just pointing out that today is the day that kid's that took the SAT in early December will get their scores back.
