Can we just for once leave a good DE at DE?

He played defensive end in a 3-4 at Cedar Hill which means he doesnt have much outside responsibility UNT runs a 4-3 and the defensive ends should have outside containment. plus if you watch the film he is lined up in a 3 technique alot

2 years away from mommas cooking and an all you can eat cafeteria he will throw on the weight and be a quick DT who obviously has power which equals the TOTAL PACKAGE for a DT

If it happens naturally, yes. But force feeding defensive ends to become defensive tackles is unfortunate for those players. See Boutwell and Lincoln. It's a shame they haven't had a chance to play more on the outside.

you think after 2 years of being in a college weight program he wont ballon up in weight?

The kid looks like a ball player and probably could play anywhere he is put all i am saying he is used to having a free move either inside or outside. As a DE at UNT he has to play his contain responsibility. PLUS 6-1 is a little short for a defensive end but now im just being picky (and lets be honest if you can play WE dont care how tall you are at UNT)

Of course he'll get bigger, but if he doesn't get DT big (270+) then we shouldn't force feed him just to get him there. The coaches said Boutwell eats something like 7 meals a day to be a little over 260.

His brother came here and he wasn't very big, and they seem to be about the same size at this stage in their lives with Xavier being maybe a little bigger than Tyler. Let's get some true DTs so we can keep our ends at end and linebackers at linebacker.

If we can get this kid to commit that would be an amazing start and a great pair of future bookends.

Look at the guys who've played for us from local powerhouse Cedar Hill and De Soto. James Hamilton and Brandon Akpunku from Cedar Hill were two of our best players in 2011 and had solid four year careers. Antoine Jimmerson and Zach Orr of De Soto are 2 of probably our best 5 players on this team, and Darius Terrell has a chance to be one of our leading receivers.

Sorry guys, really excited about us getting Graham. Keep recruiting the heck out of the schools off Belt Line guys!

Washington is only 6-1; how much weight can he carry? If you're going to recruit DEs to grow into DTs it seems to me you should be looking at 6-3, 6-4 players with a big frame. Booger Kennedys are extremely rare.

But he's also just finishing up his junior year. Chances are that he'll grow a little more

From Gregg Riddle of the DMN:

Cedar Hill’s Xavier Washington had 15 sacks and more than 30 tackles for a loss last season. And the best may still be to come for the 6-2, 240-pound senior defensive end.

“I think he’s going to have a huge year,” coach Joey McGuire said. “He didn’t start all 16 games. He started the last 11 and played a bunch early.”

Those are outstanding stats for a junior playing 5A ball, especially when you consider the tough level of competition he was playing against. He may not be extremely tall but he has certainly proven that he can dominate.

I know this kid. I coach his cousin in youth football and he has come out and watched some of our games. Great kid and a great motor on the field. I'd love to get him.

If we vote for him does that mean TCU will now offer him?
