I can't believe they were trumpeting that game as a sign of progress. Truly amazing. I guess if you are looking for one bright spot for the season, that is where you have to go.

I would rather they just come out and tell the truth. Just say "this season was a complete failure. I know it. You know it. And it won't happen again."

Anything else is complete spin.

Again, the context of this game being brought up was to say that UNT didn't mail it in. They weren't pointing to this game as a sign of progress. Two very different things. RV was trying to combat all the talk that the players had given up on Benford's program by the end of the year. That's all.

Again...remember, the folks "arguing with you" about this were NOT THERE to hear the words spoken in their true context.

I can't believe that Brady would ever let go by a chance to demolish Benford after that incident between them.

Back in 2011, Trey Finn's knee blew up in a practice drill three days before the Sun Belt tournament. (Yes, we talkin' bout PRACTICE. Not a game... PRACTICE.)

After that derailed things for Arkansas State (they were the top seed from the West that year), I wouldn't be surprised if Brady's policy is to cover everyone in bubble wrap once they clinch the division and lock in seeding for the tournament.

So, by that line of thinking, the LaLa game would suggest that the players returned to giving up on Benford's program,, right? I mean, we lost by almost 20 in a much more important game.

Again, it's simply spin.

JJ also was over .500 his first season -- a mark that has yet to be reached by Mac.

Mac won't see .500 until at the very least, year 4.

I tend to think Mac should get another year after this one if the coming season doesn't go great. He inherited a giant mess, bumford inherited a team that was picked to win our conference by every coach in the league.

I think he will get a 4th season if he goes 2-10.

I'm on board if Benford's standing on the plank...

do you even live here to go to the games and events?

He comes down for a game or two a year. Did the 2008 tourney in Mobile, the 07 NCAA game in New Orleans, and would have been in Hot Springs last year if the bottom hadn't fallen out on the program.
