Ashley Kirk named SBC Pitcher of the Week

I missed this last week, but this is pretty nice recognition for our outstanding staff ace Ashley Kirk. She was named Capital One/ESPN Performer of the Week after her win vs. Baylor. Her name and stats were seen on ESPN Sports Center (screen shot link below, if it works).

She also just won SBC Pitcher of Week honors for this past weekend for her three win, two no-hitter performance sweep of ULM.

Also, consider coming out to Lovelace Tuesday, April 30, for the last home game of the year vs. UTA. The game, which will raise funds to support Lymphoma and Leukemia Society of DFW and UNT staffer Kay Johnson. Auction items, supporting LLS of DFW, include:

Taylor Schoblocher hit a walk-off grand slam to lift the North Texas softball team to an 8-7 win against UT Arlington on Tuesday afternoon at Lovelace Stadium.

That was our freshman catcher's tenth home run of the season, by the way.

What a great way to end the home portion of the schedule. Lots of kids played today.

I enjoyed talking to the Everly's after the game, and took home a couple of autographed batting helmets from the charity auction.

Ladies play a game at SFA tomorrow before heading to Troy for the SBC tournament, May 8-11.
