DENTON, Texas — North Texas coach Dan McCarney is back at work in his office a week after undergoing a heart procedure.

While the coach wasn’t specific about his medical treatment, McCarney said Friday in a statement from the school that the medical staff was outstanding and he had already “begun the road to recovery.”

McCarney, who turns 60 in July, says he’s excited to be back in the office to continue preparing for his third season with the Mean Green.
