Macek gets UNT scholarship

DENTON — Blake Macek of Sulphur Springs was recently awarded a full four-year scholarship as punter for the University of North Texas.

Macek made the football team as a 5-9, 180-pound walk-on and recently continued to impress coaches during the spring game with a 49-yard punt.

I hope that they're right regarding Macek. His downwind punts looked good but it seemed that he struggled punting against the wind.

Good hang time? Inside 20? If he can do those well, I'm ok with whatever else I've read about him. Sounded like he got one to die around the one in the spring game.
