So which is it? Are they recent immigrants (been here a year or less) or the more current info that I'm hearing that they've been here 10 years or more?

Also, I'm always amazed by the "ant pile" tactics of my police brethren when there is a hostage/barricaded person situation. Put as many guys with guns as you can within 30 yards of the location. Nevermind that you think this guy has explosives and that, with AR-15's and other assault rifles, you could create a 360 degree field of fire with 5-10 officers from 50 yards or more away with precision. And, for the love of God, don't get me started on the media's description as they try to give a play by play...pathetic.

One of he brothers has been here since 7th grade, the older is also a us citizen but has not spent as much time here.

They've already interviewed their father who had no idea of his sons involvement.

the uncle just spoke...very powerful statement - angry at his nephews saying that they were losers and asked for forgiveness to the family from the victims. said the remaining brother should turn himself in. Reminds us that we can't blame the entire country and people where they came from for this incident.

The uncle's spot on. Those boys were wasted space and it's even worse because they were far luckier than many of the other Chechens who either didn't make it out of Chechnya or died in the fighting. Others from that same conflict came here and made good on the opportunity - these jackarounds look like they took it with them.

Yep. There are mentally deranged knucklheads everywhere. Some have guns. Some have bombs.

What a crazy week. And I watched the Red Dawn remake yesterday afternoon...great movie but might make you paranoid if you watch it before things calm down a bit!
