I am not bashing the kid at all but Pine Tree is horrible at football. They generally are a run first team, and can't throw the ball. I haven't lived in the East Texas area for over 5 years, but I hope that this kid is a diamond in the rough.

They threw the ball a lot this year. Chumley had 417 yards passing vs Sulper Springs

Listed as ATH, I would imagine the three FBS offers are counting on him playing somewhere other than QB.

Memphis , Texas State & Lamar all offered as QB

Looks like it will be down to either us or ULM. Boy with him and X coming in this weekend is going to be huge. Need a good turnout at the basketball game!

Chumley's ceiling is very high considering he's virtually 6-6, 240. Not a natural QB at all but a playmaker in the limited chances he's had there.

Ideally he'd be a receiving H-back around 6-6, 260. He's athletic for somebody so big.

If you could put four wide on the field at one time with Rutherford and Goree outside, Ivery at the slot, and Chumley in a slot/H spot, you'd have some serious matchup problems for a defense. Not to mention Fonzale Davis.

Do we have 2 spots left? Would be great to get Chumley and X without losing any we already have.

We just have 1, but we could make room. What that means is we could ask a kid or two to grayshirt, or we could blueshirt a signee. It's complicated, but we'd make room more than likely.

I have a hunch they have another spot. It seems like every year they have one extra in their back pocket. It's just a guess but it's happened before.

You forget that while we may be "losing" a few scholarships to those grey-shirted last year that there still exists the possibility of grey-shirting a player or two in this class. We have plenty of room for Chumley and X.

Two or three commits are projects. Offer to move one to grayshirt status and offer Chumley. A 6-6 player who allegedly runs in the 4.5 neighborhood doesn't get this close often. Don't let this one get away.
