Assuming Tulsa leaves and WKU is added, here is how C-USA will look:

(6) West ~ UTEP, UTSA, RICE, North Texas, La Tech, Southern Miss

(8) East ~ WKU, TMU, MTS, 0DU, Charlotte, UAB, FIU, FAU

Seems to be East heavy....which is what surprised me about the WKU add...an add of one school in the west would even things out.

This is why if Tulsa leaves the only two logical options CUSA has are:

1. Take one of ASU, UL, NMSU, TXST, Missouri State

2. Take WKU and two of the above list.

Anything else skews the divisions into silliness.

1. The fewer Belt team, the better. Like to feel we are moving without taking the whole conference with us.

If anyone is added on merit, it would be Louisiana. Second would be Arkansas State. But...I'm not opposed to Matt's idea. We can't kick anyone out but perhaps not adding anyone would be a better solution. I know that the odd number is awkward but with 13 you could still have eight conference games and a championship game each year.

If the B1G, SEC and the Big XII aren't through then neither are the conferences considered below them. With the possibe volatility it could be wise to see who might be available after the shift from the top. A conference could dissolve leaving some solid teams in need of a conference. Most of the teams that could be taken now are likely to be available when the upper echelon is done. A quick reaction might not always be the best reaction.

Haha ya'll don't want to water down CUSA with Sun Belt teams when 8 out of 14 are former Sun Belt.

I guess the "quality" teams to take are Louisiana Lafayette, Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky. The only ones you are .500 or better against since the league formed.

Again, from yesterday's analysis, ask yourself where we really are now that the dust is settling. C-USA is now Sun Belt re-boot added to more start ups than Old C-USA schools.

So, why are we sticking with this?

If we have 8-10 schools in our West region, why bother with divisions? Do the logistical and geographically sane thing, for a change, and make a separate conference.

I fully realize that this notion runs counter to the Realignment Game. But, we are in no way players in the Realignment Game. We have no "pull/street cred/money."

How this isn't fully recognized by everyone who has seen the Old C-USA member abandon us like a skunk had entered the room is beyond me.

(1) Mid-majors with even the slightest amount of success (the Tulsas, SMUs, Houstons, Memphises) in basketball or football want nothing to do with us. Forget about the traditional powers.

(2) Like the scene in Animal House where Larry and Dorfman go to the Omega House and are constantly being pushed back into the room with Mohammet, Jugdish, Sidney, and Clayton, we have to recognize we are not accepted.

(3) If there is no Delta Lodge existing to take us in, we should create one and wreak havoc on the major players with the best kind of mayhem of all - winning football games against the Omegas, Authorities, and Establishment who make the decisions that help keep programs like our down.
