It may cost me my man card, but I have to admit watching Soccer being played in a Blizzard is cool.

US 1....Costa Rica ...0

Rick I saw the last portion of game, and really enjoyed it. Where were they playing?

Most interesting part was when the players on both teams pleaded with the ref to let them keep playing. Even the Costa Rican players who were down a goal told the ref that they wanted to keep playing. That's great sportsmanship by a team who had much to gain if the game had been called at that point!

Really fun to watch...glad I wasn't there, but soon about 100,000 people will claim they were there in person...sort of like UNT's game in the snow with Florida State!

How would this cost you your man card? "Blizzard" translates to "everything is closed, so you have to run in three feet of snow". Playing soccer in it just adds the extra elements of possible frostbite and suffocation by snowdrift. Plus, there's a ball and kicking involved. Sounds good to me.

Did they use black soccer balls in the snow?

Watching soccer- when you really, really have nothing better to do.

It's a really great sport. It all depends on the brand of soccer you're watching. You watch the top Euro leagues consistently and you may not get hooked but I think your perception of it will change. The MLS while not a top league is apples and oranges better than it was a decade ago as well. For me other than the patriotic aspect of it I think the brand of soccer played in the World Cup is really meh.
