Looks like a pretty decent run for a while until, you know, almost 30 years ago. What's up with Jim Mudd...went back to school for a season instead of taking the offer to go higher in the draft?

Well they also onlyhave two rounds now... I mean if they had 9 rounds or so again then even Jordan Williams might be gone. The drop off is nothing when you look at it that way. Still it is nice to have another player in the NBA!

You also had less teams. I think a few guys were also drafted by the ABA. That list of players were much better than the guys in recent history. Texas did not even allow summer league (AAU ball) or even summer clinics back in the day I always thought it was stupid to suggest that this years team was the most talented ever. The mid 70's team was ranked 17th or 18th for a short period and clearly the best team in Texas; that attracted the states top recruits.

That's an awfully sharp dropoff.

Not too long after an awfully sharp dropoff in football.

Anybody who remained a faithful supporter of North Texas athletics through all of that until now deserves a medal. And free meds.

Where do I sign up.
