Wow. USA can afford to pay their way into a tournament.

We must be the poorest major university in the USA, if not the whole world.

Didn't I read something like this in a different thread? :hair:

Standards.

I think USA sees an opportunity with MTSU leaving the conference for greener pastures.

I thought this was interesting as well:

Pietri is the school's all-time winningest coach with a record of 220-167. That record includes a 111-104 record against Sun Belt Conference opponents. The Lady Jags produced three 20-win seasons under his guidance, the most recent coming in the 2008-09 season. He also led the team to Sun Belt West titles in 2003 and 2004, earning NIT berths both of those seasons.

He's had some success in the Sun Belt but USA has been middle of the pack the past couple years. The team has never won the conference tournament leading to an NCAA auto-berth nor have they been good enough to get an at-large berth. During the his tenure he has coached the team to a slightly better than .500 record in conference play.

Just winning games is not enough. You need to be winning hardware and getting into post season play.

Ya, but it's worth noting the things other schools will do for their athletic programs that this university refuses to do.

I know, the list could get monotonously long...

I mean, the CIT is a men's tourney, not a women's one.

They need to rename the CIT to the BIT for Buy-In Tournament.

Tulane 84

USA 73

Final

The Jags played most of the second half down 4-6. Tulane went on a run to go up 16 near the four minute mark. USA never got closer than 9 after that.
