I was comparing North Texas' run-blocking to Tulsa and the 'canes was more efficient.

Tulsa averaged 5 yards per carry and scored a whopping 41 touchdowns. North Texas averaged 4.35 yards per carry and scored 17 TDs. Yet, Tulsa only averaged 6.3 yards per passing attempt while we averaged 7.0. Thompson's 120.81 QB rating was higher that the Tulsa quarterback's rating of 113.23 so if anyone was going to stack 7 or 8 in the box to stop the run it should have been Tulsa's opponents.

We had a great pass-blocking line for sure. The proof was in the fact that they allowed only six sacks all season. But our rushing average was middle-of-the-road so either our backs are slower, we didn't call plays to negate the stacked defense, or our run-blocking is not that stellar. Take your pick but we need to juice up the running attack as well as the passing game if we're to have a winning season.

Our red zone scoring was awful last year. There are any number of games that would've been blowouts or wins had the team landed that touchdown.

i know he is graduating but UCF's running back was 6'3 222 and he looks like a beast compared to Tulsa's defense

none of our RB's look like that!! we little

6'3" is pretty tall for a RB...... IMHO a little too tall. Through the years there have been exceptions (Jim Brown, Eric Dickerson, O.J. Simpson etc....) but the most effective RB's have been 6' and under (Emmitt Smith 5'9", Barry Sanders 5'8" etc). Our two greatest statistical RBs Lance Dunbar and Patrick Cobbs were 5'9 or 10" and 5' 8" respectively.
