Boise cant wear blue out with the backdrop of the blue field....Eastern Washington cant red out with the backdrop of their red field....thus Marshall and I bet we have been told that too.

If I remember right , Fry went to his shade of light green for about a similiar reason... tough to see on game film ... but I think the film may have been black/white then..

The worm... hated it.. it was just typical of the time, 70's, some others went to some odd symbols as well. Doubt any still exist today.

Hate that blue field (usually change games if on) but the red field is even worse.

The only "stylized" helmets I can think of offhand are Iowa, Boise State, and Kansas State. The Fry era "stylized eagle" was one of the most recognized helmets of it's day because of style and color.

But back to the topic.

If, for example, North Texas were to go to a lime green pants with kelly green jersey, would that meet the NCAA requirement ? And, if we were to play at Eastern Washington or Boise, could we wear all green ?

Actually, its legislating against those clowns.

My point being that they would actually extend it to apply to teams that wear green and play on a green field--the color a football field ALWAYS HAS BEEN AND IS SUPPOSED TO BE.

Lime green pants and Kelly Green jerseys are nothing short of nauseating.

Did Darrel Royal really change the orange shade of Texas jerseys to burnt orange to better conceal the football or is that story apocryphal? Please advise.

I like the all green uniforms we use. If they are not allowed then white or black pants and green top. No biggie. I just hope we do not get chrome anything or dark grey uniforms like Nike has been pushing on teams this last few years.
