UNT alum named new AD at Rockwall ISD

The Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Denton ISD
Assistant Director of Athletics Russ Reeves as the district’s new
Athletic Director in a special meeting on February 14.

Reeves will fill the position vacated by former AD Scott Smith, who
resigned in December to take over offensive coordinator duties for the
new football program at Houston Baptist University.

In Denton, Reeves worked with all athletic programs, including
budgeting, game reports, transportation, game administration, personnel
and program implementation.

Prior to serving in that capacity, he coached at Corsicana High School,
Keller High School, Denton High School and Denton Calhoun Middle
School. He has a bachelor of science in physical education with a minor
in history and a masters degree in educational administration from the
University of North Texas.
