Not if he has a degree from NT. I believe Matt Phillips is the only NT degree in the Athletic Department.

Uh, I count at least 11, including both basketball SIDs and the Director of the Mean Green Club.

Looks like someone needs to apply for a marketing job in the athletic department

There has been an open Ticket Promotions job over there for over 6 months simply because the only way you can submit your application is if you have previous D1 ticket sales experience, therefore knocking out any alumni that would be motivated to work for less money. So the AD would never even know if an alumni was applying for the ticket job, as it won't even let you apply for it if you answer no to that question. Never ceases to amaze me.

I don't care where their degrees are from, as long as they are hard working, committed professionals, that's fine with me.

Some of the best workers to come through here have not been UNT grads.

Agreed.

Still, I would love to see an NT grad in the promotions job. Things like going door to door at businesses to put up schedule posters wouldn't fall on alumni. 40 hours a week would be spent genuinely worrying about how many people we could get into Apogee that Saturday. The paycheck would be a secondary concern. I want somebody who "takes the job home" and isn't satisfied with "good enough". We are North Texas. Inside the box, traditional methods won't/haven't worked. We need someone who is emotionally, and not just financially, invested.

      UNT HEAD COACH’S HUSBAND SAVES A LIFE AT DETROIT LIONS GAME

      UNT Head Coach Brittany Roth’s husband, Ben Roth, and their daughter were in the right place at the right time on Sunday December 22nd, and Roth was able to briefly save a life. Brittany Roth has been the head coach at UNT since 2017 and Ben Roth is a paramedic and firefighter in Plano. They hold season tickets to the Lions games, and Ben Roth told a Detroit Newspaper they try to make “four to five games a year as a family.” At the game on December 22nd between the Lions and the Bears, Ben and their daughter were sitting in club seats he described as “As close as you can be without actually being on the field.” That was when he noticed someone in a North Texas shirt, which was shocking as neither the Lions nor the Bears are based anywhere near Denton, Texas, the location of UNT.       A plea to our "football-only" fans

      You missed his point entirely. He’s not talking about having another“but Denton hates us” pity fest. if the same people (or just half of them) who can manage to make it to Datcu to watch a sub .50 team would make it literally across the street to the pit to watch a team that has won 🏆, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

      Should we add Texas State to the AAC?

      We should elevate if possible and meaningful. After the PAC’s new deal we will see if that is worth the elevation. There is no point looking west until they have something to offer. Any decision made must elevate UNT. We have a lot of goods. Let’s do like Memphis and wait and see what their offer will be to enter into the Rich DFW market. GMG
