I don't know his specific situation after spring practice. Was he a projected starter or not, if that was the issue? Maybe it was something else like the school is harder, or he is homesick, or left a girl behind at SH? -

Obviously money is the easy thing to see here. But, deep down, should we be concerned about anything else? He played for his DC at SHS and liked him enough to follow him to Denton. Then, after one spring with Morris, he's gone. Hope it is only money, honestly. And/or a bad agent. -

I don't think it will happen soon. Maybe in a couple years depending on the final $$ required by a conference to give to players. The conference monetary minimums may strain some athletic department budgets. But there are still plenty more players available than roster spots on FBS teams. You could reasonably field a semi-competitive team with players wanting to just "play" and be seen by the bigger programs for NIL at their level. No need to drop down if you can afford the minimums. Especially with $$ now being offered at both the high school and college level, I bet high school football and basketball participation is way up.
